TREATMENTS AND SIDE EFFECTS
There are no cures to Huntington's Disease but medication is usually prescribed to help lessen the symptoms. The most popular medication prescribed is Tetrabenazine this medication is used to suppress muscle jerking and twitching. There is side effects to this such as depression and psychiatric conditions. Antipsychotic drugs are sometimes prescribed but can cause muscle rigidity. Other medication such as Levetiracetam and Clonazepam can worsen the cognitive signs if not taken or used correctly.
